Of healings - I

Dear All,
This post travails the journey of my mother in her fight against her breast cancer & may be longish to my standard shorter posts. On the onset, I would like to thank all of my freinds, well wishers & family for their support & well-wishes during the entire process. My special thanks to my cousin (lilliput "Bittu) for his unflinched & unwavering support.

Last year had been a terrible & traumatising time (Dec'09 onwards) which continued till mid July'10. Till 8th Dec'09, I was in a exalted condition & had evey thing planned out like a good planner about my winter/ new year plans.......... but every thing went topsy turvy, yet again proving how gullible we can be at the hands of our fate....

I was itching for partying during the New year- christmas carnival time at Goa... having missed out the oppurtunity the previous year to party in Goa as my best friend Aphi was coming to India & I had to go to visit her (to Delhi).
To cut a long story short, I had planned for a small get-away holiday in Goa with another of my good friend (Irene) & her cousin. They were from Shillong & were supposed to come to my place via Guwahati - Mumbai - baroda. We were supposed to leave for Goa by train from Baroda & head straightway to the hotel at Calungate (that I booked online instead of booking our company's guest house). But Lady Moirae had a different plan for me & us.

On 8th December'09 evening, I was with Dhruti & Imran at Ellora park discussing "Global warming" when my brother called up from home & delivered the biggest blow (BB).... well it was the first of the oncoming BB.... that my mom has been detected with a lump in one of her breast..... any ninny can tell you that its not good news at her age. The Agartala doc immediately recommended the oncology Deptt for further procedural check-ups/ biopsy etc.
I told them immediately to come over my place so that I could take them to TMC, Mumbai. They came on 15th Dec & we headed the same day to Mumbai. Upon the advice of my office colleagues Anurag & Sriniwas Sir, I took the appointment of Dr. SH Advani (revered by many as the best onco doc of India) for 17th Dec.
We showed up on the appointed day in the basement of Jaslok hospital where Dr. Advani has his chamber. He prescribed for some tests & was in his afflable best in order to alleviate our fears & give the much required moral boost (for which I am still thankful). For the next 2-days , they did a battery of tests on her frail body & finally when we showed up at Dr. Advani's chamber with the reports, he told us to get admitted the next day.

So, we moved her to the hospital on 22nd Dec. MRM (Modified radical masectomy) was done upon her on 24th Dec'09 wherein the tumour & her breast was removed in one go..... the entire operation was for nearly 5 & 1/2 hours. For the next 8-9 days that we were in the hospital (with me & my brothers alternating between hospital to Guest house at Parel), it was a painful healing process for my mother. My cousin brother also toiled hard given the fact that he had his final term exams breathing on his neck. I still feel guilty that had it not been for us, he would have cleared all his papers that sem.

In the meanwhile, some more bad news followed me prior to my mom's operation. The day my mom was supposed to get admitted to hospital, Joe (Irene's bro-in-law) rang up from Shillong to deliver the Second biggest blow. I had talked with Irene some few days back ( on 18-19th Dec'09) and had cajoled her to take the flight some how & come down to Mumbai. I had told my cousin to pick them from Airport & drop them to railway station for Vadodara train. On reaching Vadodara, my friend would have picked them up & taken to my house where malatidi was there. I had kept our train tickets & hotel tickets with her. They just had to catch the evening train from Vadoara & voila, they would have atleast had a decent holiday sans me.

Irene was not keeping well for some days & was hospitalised in a nursing home/ clinic. Doc. told it was low BP (a severe poor diagnosis). Inspite of her health problem, she was really eager to come over to my place. So, I had the second biggest blow when Joe informed me that Irene had brain heamorrage & is in ICU. Within 2days, she left all of us. It was real hard as the sameday, my mom was to be admitted in hospital. I was shattered & worst of all I had no time to grieve for her & our friendship which had survived the test of time. It was nearly a decade we were supposed to meet. So, my dear Irene, maybe Lady Moirae wont spoil our chance / next time when we will get to meet in our afterlife, if there is any.

How do you Fcuk up your much awaited Diwali holidays?

Well there are “n” nos. of ways to totally mess up your holidays….. For instance go for watching “Blue”…… ya.. iam one of the unlucky ones to go for a late night show on Diwali night for that much fawned over “BLUE”… & what do I get?
I got real nightmares from the leading men of “BLUE” wearing not blue costumes but multicoloured speedo/ spandex types of costumes (supposed to be of diver’s costume)… However, in that costume they forgot to portray the pot-belly of Sanju baba. Maybe the body double or stunt diver isn’t much like the anatomical replica of the wobbly Dutt. Its not every time you get to see a gormless Character played by supposedly “deadly” Dutt. His dialogues with his wife (Ms. Dutt) are stupendous bordering to fugingly hilarious specially during (a) the action sequence at his home when his house was raided by goons & (b) At supposedly carnival where Ms. Dutt was dancing with gay abandon & doing a weak replica of Katrina Kaif ( in flashing those moronic pearly whites without any reasons whatsoever).
And what Ms Lara Dutta was doing in those sequined bikini tops??? Get real guys… U don’t go for diving / swimming in the "ocean" wearing your designer/ haute couture swim wears. Stinky Kumar is seen canoodling to so many multicolored females… May be he was trying to act like a flamboyant Hugh Hefner minus the XXX part;) Height was Kylie Minogue!!! Bechari Kylie… money money money….. made her take up this shitty Hindi fillum project…. Hope she gets wiser next time if at all she isn’t hell bent on tarnishing her oeuvre. Katrina Kaif was the best as she did not torture the audience with her trademark idiotic smile (she was hardly for some 10mins)…. Oh what a relief!!
Overall the story writer (if there was any) , script writer, Director, editor etc etc must seriously be in pots & weeds to let go of their imagination run amok with such gay abandon. Their main mottos were to gobsmack & mulct the poor souls who dared to watch their effort of love.

When everything goes awry..........

So today resumed duty after a longggggggg sick leave. Thought will be bogged down by loads of work as we needed to take some quick action & set some procurement action rolling for some of future jobs.... so what did I face???

Firstly some of my colleagues dropped in to wish me/ say hi/ inquire about my newest acquisition (i.e., scarface).

Best part was when i got to realise that all our net connection, outlook mail, intra-net, SAP etc is hung for quite a few days .... icing was ----- realising that even our newly acquired office printer has also hung up its shoes & has rejected to do the usual printing chores.... All due to some deadly virus attack on our system.... God knows when our smarty Infy guys are going to repair it. Till then we will be purely like "sarkari karmachari ----- minus the desktops" ;)

My best buddy has come down to India & will be meeting her in Dec 24th. So it will be almost 2/3 years since I last met her...... Infact if i come to think about the relation that I share with her, it will pretty much amaze any sane people like how could we stuck around for so so many years.... we were as different as chalk & cheese back in our college days ..... yet there some great sisterly bonding that has proved more stronger over the years.

Stitch - Unstitch updates

So after nearly a fortnight, got my stitches cut....... thought it wud pain like shit. But doc-scissorhand was sweet enough to divert my attention with his smooth talks. Just hope i dont scare off all the baccha parties of my locality with my newest "scarface" ;)

Some people are real moron... like our "baba*****" ..... That fellow is so screwed up that he can be a unique piece for the scientific laboratory where the research guys can do some heavy duty studies on his so called pseudo psychic power of healing. Or be sent to the interview round of Roadies audition to face the gaali-assault of Raghu. Now that would be a real delight as also my partner-in-crime... (err...work) "paa-ji" would also vouch for. Wot say???

Was really harping to watch "Transporter-3" @ Inox (11pm show) tonight. But have to settle for some "Maharathi" as the "Maharathi" I am going out with sleeps by 11pm like a good babadhan. So inorder to let babadhan sleep in his assigned time schedule, will be watching the 8.20 pm show of "Maharathi". Just hoping that it turns out to be a good watch else am gonna doze off there by 9.00pm. Talking of "Transporter"... I remember watching the earlier Part-II in Baroda with some of my colleagues ( CC, MTV etc..etc). Our expectation from that movie was some good action as we happened to enjoy the Original Part-I movie. Instead we had laughed off our head by watching those "comic action" scenes. Hats off to Hollywood for packaging such absurd movies which becomes hit everywhere from East to West.... & we sniggered on "Aparachit".... one of my favorite cum worst nightmares.

Doc ---- the scissor hand!!!!!

Been blogging after loooooooooooong hiatus. Part was my mistake in not managing my time frame & do some blogging....
So what did I do or not do this last 8/9 months?????
Obviously nothing interesting but got involved in a nasty accident (again my fault) and got stiched up twice (in my face/chin). In the last stich case, I got operated & got stitched up pretty well. Doc had happily done some good fashionista sewing that I can give Mr. Jack Sparrow a run for his money... (as commented by Mr. Sapceman)...;)
